MacAnLeister Highlands, established in 2015, is nestled in the Limestone Coast region of Mount Gambier, South Australia where our journey with the Highland breed started to develop with its distinctiveness, setting it apart from other cattle breeds.

Our passion lies in preserving the rich heritage and identity of the Highland breed. As registered breeders with the Australian Highland Cattle Society, we prioritise cultivating cattle with calm dispositions and true-to-type characteristics.

We focus exclusively on breeding from fully imported bloodlines, with pedigrees that trace back to the original UK Herdbook. Through a highly selective breeding process, we ensure our cattle uphold the highest industry standards while maintaining the breed's authentic traits.

To further enhance our breeding program, we partner with leading breeders in the USA and NZ and travel regularly to incorporate new genetics and best practices. This global collaboration helps us continually improve our herd and maintain the highest quality in our bloodlines.

Committed to ongoing improvement, we continually enhance our genetics through extensive research and the importation of top-tier bloodlines. This unwavering dedication to quality ensures the Highland breed’s legacy is preserved for future generations.
